The ownership of Westport Golf Club teamed up with Robbie Smith Tennis Incorporated to build a new Tennis, Swim, and Fitness Amenity which is located adjacent to the Westport Golf Club, on the site of the former Westport Community Club.  The members of the Westport Community Club voted to approve the construction of a first class amenity in the Westport Community, on February 9, 2008.  The new Club at Westport, which is owned and operated by Robbie Smith Tennis, Inc, began construction November 2008 and opened in May 2009. 

The Club at Westport is part of the planned community development and compliments the established Westport Community and The Westport Golf Course located on the Western Shores of Lake Norman, in East Lincoln County. 

The Club includes a 6000 sq ft Clubhouse with wrap around porch, fitness center, group exercise room, a tennis pro shop, locker rooms, meeting space, and offices.  The Club’s 2500 square foot fitness center has designated areas for weight machines, free weights, and cardio workouts.  Members have access to the fitness center 7 day/week, 24 hours/day.  Personal training is offered, along with aerobics, pilates, and yoga classes.

The Club also includes a 5000 square foot Jr. Olympic sized pool, with swimming lanes, 2 water slides and splash park for children.  It is the first 8 lane, wake-free facility in the Denver area and ideal for top level competition.  The Swim Club also offers swim lessons and introduces Westport Swim Team "Stingrays".

The Tennis Facility includes 8 lighted clay courts and has shaded sitting areas for players and spectators.  A 2000 square foot wrap around porch provides first court type viewing for many courts.  The club tennis professional offers lessons for adults and children.  The year round program includes seasonal league play, a club tournament and club socials.

“A recreational amenity of this magnitude will provide a beneficial service to Westport, as well as to all residents in the rapidly growing area of East Lincoln County”, according to Tom Daniel of Westport Lakeside Development, LLC, who owns and operates the Westport Golf Club and is managing the development of The Westport Club.  The Club at Westport features newly completed Large Single Family with prices ranging from $390,000 to $600,000 and Town Homes ranging from $130,000 to $250,000, surrounding the Westport Golf Club.  “Thanks to the support of the members of The Westport Community Club, this amenity will be another enhancement to the existing Westport Community along with the recently renovated Westport Golf Club”, said Daniel

Robbie Smith, who owns and operates the Charlotte Racquet Club North, in Huntersville, believes that, “The proximity of the new Westport Racquet Club to the existing Westport Golf club, and The Westport Club Development, and so many other developments that do not have Clay Tennis, Competitive swimming, Splash Park and a large fitness facility, that we plan, is an incredible opportunity for us to expand.”
